For the past 17 years, CCPAL has been affiliated with The National Police Athletic League (PAL), which has a 90-year history of caring and providing alternatives for youth at risk. PAL’s beginning started about 1910 when Captain John Sweeney of the New York City Police Department had the insight to offer inner-city youth some positive experiences with law enforcement. He began the PAL program knowing, by providing a safe environment and supportive role models to guide activities; it would have a positive influence on their youth.
PAL is a volunteer-driven organization with an estimated 80,000 volunteers across the country supporting all levels of programming. Although chapters are sponsored by law enforcement agencies, PAL programs are made possible by support from private sectors such as individuals, business leaders, corporations and foundations.
Today, there are over 350 PAL Member Chapters in law enforcement agencies servicing over 700 cities and 1,700 facilities throughout the United States, including the U.S. Virgin Islands, serving more than two million youth, ages 5 to 18.
Locally in Clay County the PAL Staff is dedicated to benefit the young people of the entire county by building facilities where positive role model interaction occurs through educational, arts, and athletic activities to help develop well rounded character, self worth, family values, and respect for others and to ensure continued success through the dedication of our staff, families, volunteers and sponsors.
Our programs are designed to cater to those families that enjoy quality programs for a reasonable rate
we are truly a non-profit organization and are proud to have approximately 43% of our members on some degree of scholarship. |
